Only a few days to go

Kia Ora all

We are now into the 'under a week to go' countdown for the Year 4 Sleepover and Funday.

Planning is in full swing and your dedicated teachers have been meeting regularly.

We have received an almost 100% "I'm definitely coming along" response which is fantastic.

We have a range of exciting activities planned for Thursday and Friday, and Mr Forman has brought himself a set of industrial strength ear muffs so that he can get some sleep on Thursday night.

A few updates and notices for you.

[1] A newsletter will come home Monday with further information and as a reminder to parents about this Thursday.

[2] Our wonderful parents who have offered their time and help will receive information in the above notice.

[3] Breakfast - In keeping with the integration of ICT in learning, a BREAKFAST SURVEY has been created. Go to the Breakfast Survey page and carry out the survey. We can then collate and graph the results to help plan breakfast. We could always just ask you what you would like, or just put some out on the tables, but we like to be adventurous.

[4] Medication - Maria Brennan (Rm 4) will be the medical officer in charge of keeping the medical register, collecting and administering medication.

[5] Contact on the night - should you need to contact us during the evening, in the first instance contact your child's classroom teacher.  You can also make contact via 027 220 1077 (Mr F's mobile).

[6] Bedding - As students, and teachers, will be sleeping on the floor, your child will require some form on padding between them and the floor for a comfortable night's sleep. Should you have a couple of extra bed rolls, foam mats, etc available we would love to have use of them for Thursday evening. Conversely, if you are in need of one, please let your classroom teacher know so we can organise one for you.

[7] What not to bring - Students are NOT allowed to being any form of device (power or battery) as the aim is to spend the time engaged in activities that require communication, teamwork and a bit of fun. Devices found will be collected for the night and returned at the end of Friday (or kept in the teacher's desk as per usual for students who have an arrangement with bringing a device on a daily basis to school.

[8] Snacks - we don't encourage students to stock up on confectionary and carbonated drinks - in fact we will take them off them. We will not be giving out fizzy drinks as students will be of sufficient energy anyway.
